My larger heads are made without moulds. They are entirely hand built; each one is unique and has an individual character. No armature is used, either. Damp mortar is both carved and modelled by hand to achieve the result and the process takes 5+ hours to complete, before curing. All have cowrie eyes, ears and mouth (check between the semi-open lips!) Height varies - 7-10 inches.
